Personal, Social & Health Education
Sharmans Cross Junior School delivers Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) through the Kapow Primary curriculum. PSHE is central to the school’s commitment to developing confident, resilient and responsible pupils. It reflects our school rules Ready, Respectful, Safe and our core PRIDE values of Patience, Responsibility, Independence, Determination and Empathy.
PSHE supports pupils’ personal development by helping them understand themselves, manage their emotions, build positive relationships and navigate an increasingly complex world. It equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to stay healthy, safe and prepared for life and work.
Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) forms a statutory and safeguarded element of PSHE, supporting pupils in understanding their bodies, emotions and relationships while promoting wellbeing and personal safety.
The DfE have produced Frequently Asked Questions information for parents which can be accessed here: DfE Frequently Asked Questions
There is also a guide for primary school parents which can be accessed here: DfE Parent Guidance
